Who are we?
We were born from love, the way the most valuable things are. La Caty was founded by Michelle and Jacqueline, an aunt and niece who have been partners in crime from the very start. In 2018 they began building a concept of meaningful fashion and accessories, and it all came to life at the Hotel Live Aqua in San Miguel de Allende that same year. Since then, La Caty has grown as quickly as anything cared for with love.
Little by little, each store filled up: black clay from Oaxaca, carved wood from Yucatán, Huichol art from Nayarit, embroidery made on backstrap looms in Chiapas. Suddenly every region of Mexico was there. Now they share the beauty of what is born in our land.
LA CATY
MANIFESTO
We are the love of things handmade, at their own pace. We believe objects carry the heart and culture of the person who made them. At La Caty we bring together pieces from different regions that capture the essence of our Mexico.
Admiration
La Caty was born from respect and admiration for artisans. Every stitch, every weave and every color is marked forever by their hands. Our work is to honor theirs by bringing it closer to people who find beauty and value in their art.
Fair and Sustainable
Fair trade is essential to every product that reaches our stores. We respect the brands and the people behind them, and we look for partners with sustainable practices and eco-friendly materials.
Curation
Curation is the heart of La Caty. We are always searching for local brands with outstanding design and quality. Every piece passes through our hands before it reaches our stores. We choose with care, professionalism and love.
Mexican and Disruptive
We love mixing styles so everyone can find something that speaks to them. We celebrate Mexican design through contemporary, handmade pieces crafted with a range of traditional techniques.
